The LAON Center (Learning Area Of Nursing) is a cutting-edge educational facility that opened in April 2024. It operates educational programs designed to enhance clinical practice by providing nursing students with an environment and scenarios similar to clinical settings, thereby meeting the rapidly changing medical demands.
The center comprises a virtual reality practice room, an acute care unit, a family care unit, a community health nursing unit, debriefing rooms, and a reception hall. It is equipped with high-fidelity patient simulators for critical care, geriatrics, maternity, and neonates, as well as a labour progress simulator and Nasco pelvic exam models.
The College of Nursing has expanded simulation practice to include Integrated Simulation I and II, Holistic Nursing Integrated Practice, Case-Based Practical Training, and Women's Health Nursing Practice. By requiring students to complete over 87 hours of simulation practice before graduation, the college is committed to fostering future nursing professionals. Additionally, to enhance the educational capabilities of instructors and the quality of clinical practice, the college provides simulation education capacity-building programs and scenario development for internal faculty, neighboring university faculty, and nurses from affiliated hospitals.
Moreover, through extensive community networking, the center shares its infrastructure with nurses from CMC-affiliated hospitals, collaborative hospitals, and nursing students from partner universities, contributing to the spread of simulation education.
Starting with the 'LAON Academic Conference' in 2024, our university actively engages in both internal and external academic activities, fostering interactions with various healthcare professionals. We lead the advancement of nursing education through ongoing research related to simulation-based learning and assessment.
