START Center is located in the 8th floor of Songeui Center and established in May 2005 where students are taught to acquire fundamental clinical competence through trainings such as fundamental clinical skills, simulation education using standardized patients, and patient simulation training using a simulator. In addition, Constant effort to develop and offer various simulation-based training programs for maintaining and developing clinical competence of clinical doctors, nurses and health care workers is being made and it trains many health professionals in effective way.
Moreover, various researches related to simulation based learning or evaluations have been carried out, and starting with ‘the opening commemoration symposium’ in October 2005, active interactions are being made with educators in their respective medical fields through vigorous internal and external academic activities. In addition, the center has been successfully carrying out programs that train and foster various standardized patients internally and educational programs for simulation educators. Furthermore, various health and medical educations including cardiopulmonary resuscitation training were implemented not only for students and health professionals but also for general public in the local community, and efforts have been put into volunteering activities such as training camps.
